Position: Maintenance Staff

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum age of 14 years old.
2. Willingness to work hard and not be afraid of getting dirty
3. Experience as a general handyman with technical skills such as landscaping, electrical, plumbing, etc. are helpful.
4. Willingness to learn new skills if current knowledge is lacking.
5. Required to attend camp for eight weeks of the camp season. Eligible to receive a salary.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Camp Director and Maintenance Director

GENERAL (BROAD) RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Maintenance Staff shall be responsible for maintaining the equipment, grounds, buildings, and swimming pools on site as well as the day-to-day operations. The duties of the Maintenance Staff will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Keep the grounds and pools in order.

a. Landscape fields, weed berms and prune and clear tree debris.
b. Maintain roads and patios.
c. Keep pool area clean and free of debris
d. Maintain pool complex.
2. Make periodic inspections of the entire camp-site.
a. Inspect buildings.
b. Follow ACA guidelines regarding camp building and equipment inspections.
c. Open and close buildings before and after scheduled events/camp season.
3. Clean and maintain buildings.
a. Sweep, mop and remove trash from interior of all buildings.
4. Distribute supplies and instruct in the proper use of special equipment to maintenance staff and activity specialists.
5. Meet and report general condition of camp property regularly to Maintenance Director.
6. Check activities and supervise contracted repairmen as needed.
7. Prepare facility for beginning of season and close it down at conclusion of season.
8. Organize workshops.
9. Maintain a 40-hour weekly work schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or as otherwise agreed upon during the camp season.
10. These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be re-assigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
