Position: Athletic Staff

QUALIFICATIONS
1. At least 19 years of age.
2. Ability to teach, coordinate, and organize athletic activities.
3. Ability to motivate campers and staff in these activities.
4. Desire to work in a camp community.
5. College athlete, professional training, or work or playing experience in athletics.
6. Required to attend camp for eight weeks of the camp season. Eligible to receive a salary.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Athletic Director

GENERAL (BROAD) RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a group of twelve to twenty campers throughout an entire summer program. Participate in planning and executing the camp program.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Train and supervise assistants during staff training period.
2. Evaluate counselors who will work in your activity periodically during the summer.
3. Operate a meaningful program in the area of athletics and games, geared to the ages, interests and abilities of the campers.
4. Coordinate your specialization with other camp activities and plans.
5. Keep equipment in good repair and in good order.
6. Make recommendations for the program growth.
7. Attend weekly staff meetings or special meetings when necessary.
8. Meet with Athletic Director to evaluate the on-going program.
9. Clean and prepare athletic areas for daily use.
10. Pack away materials and equipment at end of day and season.
11. Establish and operate athletic events, leagues, etc. Schedule officials, timers, and scorers.
12. Plan and coordinate all inter-camp athletic events.
13. Participate in committees for All-Camp programs relating to athletics.
14. Set up and line all athletic fields and courts.
15. Allocate athletic equipment on a daily basis.
16. Write evaluation of and recommendations for athletic program at end of season.
17. These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be re-assigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
